This contains various parts of the ARP library and documentation.
ARP stands for AmigaDOS Replacement Project and is public domain. The ARP
library is used in the GenAm2 editor to produce the File Requestor but
contains many other useful routines too. The complete ARP disk contains
both Programmer- and User-Manuals and replacements for most of the standard
CLI commands. Disk space severely limits what we can supply but we hope this
gives you a taster and strongly encourage you to get hold of a 'real' copy.
We obtained our copy in the UK from the Cavendish Centre, though a more
up-to-date version was obtained directly from the US.
The file NewPro.arc contains details on all the ARP routines in compressed
form. To extract the files you will need an ARC program which we cannot
supply. We suggest you contact PD distributors regarding such a program.
There is nowhere near enough disk space to supply the un-arced files.
We have not suplied the AmigaDOS command replacements so the installation
details are not relevent to this disk. We shall now leave you in the capable
hands of the ARP Authors:
This is ARP, the AmigaDOS(tm) freely redistributable command program
replacements.
In order to use ARP, you may use the batch program "ExecuteMe" on
this diskette. (Alternatively for single-drive users, you can use
the batch file "OneDrive" which will require less disk swapping).
For details on installation, see the file "Installation" in the
UserDocs drawer.
The most likely problem you will have with ARP is not having the file
"arp.library" installed in your LIBS: directory. If this happens and
you try to run one of the ARP command programs, you will get a message
"you need arp.library V33+", which means you should copy the file
"libs/arp.library" from this diskette onto your system diskette LIBS:
directory.
ON THIS DISKETTE: (the proper ARP Disk that is, not Devpac Amiga Disk 2)
The C directory contains all the ARP executable programs.
The LIBS directory contains "arp.library".
The UserDocs directory contains users documentation for ARP.
The ProDocs directory contains programmers information and source code for ARP.
The ARCFILES directory contains files Archived ARP files which may be posted to
BBS'es and telecomm services.
